LCRVHC is a group of riders from a variety of disciplines united by a common love of horses. We enjoy riding whether on the trails or in the arena, meeting to socialize and learn, and volunteering our time to develop and maintain trails.
From the President:
At the September board meeting we had talked about trying to invite any potential BPC BOD candidates to the October BOD meeting. We have not had much luck/response in that quarter except for Tom Elliott—who actually volunteered! Last night at the general meeting we decided to wait until after the hunter pace and aim for getting together in November instead. So no board meeting in October but a few items here.
Judy Bosco is on board to photograph the HP. Lynda has ordered the ribbons and porta-potty, and talked to the caterer. Sue is sending the letters and insurance certificates to property owners. Kristin will mark the route on a map. The contact person for the Clip and Ride on October 19 will be Melissa: firstname.lastname@example.org (Lynda will be away) *Jenna, will you change this on the website?* So far I have Alyce, Barbara White, Shirley and Joe signed up to help mark the course either on the 19th or during the week before the ride. The day of the ride Leslie LeMay will help Sue and Lynda with registration, etc. I believe Bill and Kathy Schuyler said they will help out with parking again. And Kathy will pick up the food. I like Lynda’s idea of parking like at Lord Creek with everybody face in. It’s easier to back out after the ride when everyone isn’t in a rush. Alyce is available for whatever is needed. Can help me with timing and safety check if nothing else urgent. I will also review the signage in the club trailer that we used last year and get it out the day before.
Dave, thanks again for getting all those flyers out at Lord Creek last week. What needs to be done at your place between now and the HP? If you pick a date for mowing Ginger’s Field and the Gun Club field we can get some weed whackers out there to trim around the jumps etc. If you need help with that tree on the alternate route, same.
Marlisa, we are about a month out. If you didn’t already send the e-mail to your list of all the barns maybe you could do it next week? And did you get a chance to look at Genie’s tabulation script/software that she used for calculating the times? Are you available to help with that the day of the pace?
Kristin, you said there is some chainsaw work that should be done before then. If you can mark it on the map that you do the route on maybe we can get somebody out there. My nephew Mike has offered to help out with trail work but I’ve been saving him for something I can’t do myself!
And non-HP related. Tom and Gloria Elliott have offered their home for the Holiday party. It will be January 24 this year. As usual the club will supply a spiral ham and non-alcoholic punch. Bring a dish to share.
